About ‘Round the Outside’

In Peter’s own words:

‘My name is Peter Spowage , I am a serving Metropolitan Police officer.

In the company of my brother, we intend to ride the coastal route around England, Scotland and Wales during the summer of 2009. Hence the name of the event “ROUND THE OUTSIDE”.

The purpose of this, is to raise money for the charity, Help for Heroes, www.helpforheroes.org.uk, which supports our wounded soldiers who are currently involved in hostilities far from home.

Our journey will begin on 4th JULY 2009 at Brighton, Sussex.

We then ride east, to begin a 5000 mile round trip to return on 25th JULY 2009, back to where we started.

During our trip we will be visiting our fathers old wartime base at RAF WALTHAM, where he served as a pilot during WW2. So this trip will also be very relevant to us as we remember those who fell during WW2 and needed assistance, now we can help those young men and women of today’s generation who bravely serve this country.

All the money we raise will be passed in full to the charity as we will be funding the entire trip including all cost’s of accommodation, fuel and food ourselves.

Many thanks for your interest and attention.
